There is no shortage of activity in the City of Allegan!

Located along the Kalamazoo River, Allegan features 10 parks that include a mountain bike and hiking trail, pickleball courts, off-leash dog park, hammock grove, disc golf course, and more.

1. Water Street Boardwalk - North of Water Street along the Kalamazoo River.
Features a gazebo, park benches, and scenic overlook.

2. Mill District Access Point - North of Water Street along the Kalamazoo River.
Portage your canoe or kayak from the rustic launch. Paved parking is available and launch can be reached by an ADA-accessible walk.

3. Jaycee Park - 200 Monroe Street.
Something for everyone! Features a skate park, off-leash dog park, basketball court, 9-hole disc golf course, paved walking path, fishing spot, playground, accessible canoe/kayak launch, and full service amenities including a picnic shelter, grills, and restrooms.

4. Mahan ParkBrady Street, East of Riverfront Park
Amphitheater and gazebo surrounded by beautiful landscaping makes a perfect spot to enjoy community events, a picnic, or simply take in a beautiful sunset.

5. Hanson Park - Behind the Griswold Auditorium (401 Hubbard Street).
Visit this park for the up close and personal views of the Kalamazoo River - stay for the play structure and picnic areas. After you return from kayaking or canoeing from up river using the barrier-free accessible launch, relax in the peaceful hammock grove.

6. Rossman Esplanade Park - Intersection of Marshall & Fifth Streets.
A lovely shaded four quadrant park featuring picnic tables, pickleball courts, and a labyrinth.

7. Sue Lange Memorial ParkIntersection of Marshall & Bond Streets.
This unique pocket park with a formal garden is a perfect spot to read a book or simply listen to the bubble of the fountain.

8. Riverfront Park - 1 Riverfront Plaza.
Walk the 600-foot Riverfront Park and take in the views as you enjoy a picnic or the downtown atmosphere. The park also features a 100-person splash pad, an outdoor fireplace, kinetic sculpture, and river fountains. The centerpiece of the award-winning Riverfront is the historic Iron Bridge, illuminated at night by thousands of LED lights.

9. Allegan Sports Complex - 1451 29th Street.
63-acres: 4 baseball fields, 2 softball fields, batting cage, football field, soccer fields, picnic shelter, playground, restrooms, and a 1-mile paved walking loop that doubles as a cross-country skiing trail in the winter.

10. Mountain Bike & Hiking Trail2850 114h Avenue.
Ride the rustic mountain bike trail through a wooded ravine on the outskirts of the city limits. The trail is designed for beginners and avid riders alike, and features a babbling creek and a 45-food truss bridge.
